Being a Professional Fighter demands extraordinary discipline to a life of health and fitness. You are placed in extreme conditions under an enormous amount of physical and mental pressure. If you are not at your peak fitness, there is a good chance you won't last the rounds. If you are not solely and completely focused on the job, you could become seriously injured or knocked out. Fighting is not an easy sport. There are so many elements to it. To reach your personal best, cross training is a must. This is why I choose Fitzroy's Bikram Yoga...
Bikram Yoga benefits me in so many ways, not only with my chosen sport but also in daily life.
I am generally more positive with my outlook on life. My mentality is calmer and my mind is more still. This helps me to do almost everything better as I feel more present within myself. I am not concerned about past or future, just the now.
This focus is most important moments before stepping into the ring. Everything is heightened. Your awareness is peaking, the adrenaline is bubbling under your skin but the key is to control this and not lose it in an emotion or action because it is so high, you are surely to burn out a lot faster, so being able to harness it into complete focus is a must. Through practicing Bikram, I am able to get into this zone almost immediately by starting with the breath. It is my secret weapon.
Michael and Susan and all the wonderful instructors at Fitzroy's Bikram Yoga have channeled me into a very important practice, which I will continue for life.
There are so many fantastic health benefits. I discover new ways that it affects me after each session. Some of these are:
• Increased flexibility
• Tones and lengthens my muscles
• Heightens my energy levels and calms me at the same time
• Increases the heart rate whilst building up a sweat so you're sure to shed fat
I have told many close friends about Bikram and all who have tried it are now telling their friends about it. So I highly recommend it to everybody as there are no age limit and you can work at your own pace. It combines physicality with spirituality and makes you feel great.
